Dan Kennedy once said:
"As common and well-proven as testimonial use is, the absence or underuse of testimonials remains the number one marketing error I see repeated most frequently."
BUT many businesses still fail to use testimonials effectively.
They either don’t collect enough, don’t share them consistently, or don’t structure them properly.
THEREFORE, if you want to close more deals, start utilizing the tool of testimonials as part of your marketing.
How Testimonials Closed a 7-Figure Deal for Me
I recently closed a 7-figure sales training job by sharing a testimonial from a client who made $42,000,000 in 3 months after working with me.
BUT I don’t just stop there.
Some days, my entire content strategy is simply posting slideshows of Google reviews from clients.
THEREFORE, if you’re not actively collecting and sharing testimonials, you’re leaving money on the table.
How to Get More Testimonials
BUT don’t just wait for clients to give them voluntarily.
THEREFORE, make it a habit to collect testimonials as part of your after-sales process.
✔ Add it to your post-sales checklist—always ask for feedback.
✔ Send clients your Google review link (especially in real estate—some clients will choose you simply because you have more reviews than your competitors).
How to Structure a Powerful Testimonial
Not all testimonials are equal. BUT structured testimonials convert better.
THEREFORE, use these two proven formats:
Before & After:
Frame the question to highlight where the client was before buying your product and what happened after.
Example: "I was struggling with sales, but after taking Paul’s training, I doubled my revenue in 90 days."
Feature/Benefit:
Inspire the client to mention a specific feature of your product and how it benefited them.
Example: "I bought X product and doubted they’d install it for free. To my surprise, they did!"
Final Thought
Testimonials sell for you when used properly.
BUT collecting them isn’t enough.
THEREFORE, use them consistently, structure them well, and make them a core part of your content strategy.
I hope this was useful to you.

Getting testimonials is tough, especially if you don’t have a system for it. You could try Loyally.ai to automate asking for reviews and keep track of them easily. It helped me stay consistent, and sharing structured testimonials actually brought in more client interest.
