Sunday Morning Reflections
It’s a beautiful Sunday morning. The sun is shining, my studio is clean, and I find myself sitting at my writing station, facing a blank page with a deep sense of purpose: I am writing this letter to you with love.
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Recently, I took my two teenage sons to a men-only prayer and Bible study retreat in London. We learned, bonded, and shared plenty of meals together. I want to share some valuable lessons I took away from this trip.
1. Don’t Play Life Alone
At a national park in the USA, many tourists visit, but unfortunately, some lose their lives. A common factor among those who perish is that they were alone.
Life is a group sport, don’t do life alone. Seek help, be vulnerable.
Playing the sport of life with a group prevents you from making stupid decisions.
In life and business, those who go astray often allow unhealthy voices to influence them. Remember, who you surround yourself with shapes who you become.
In addition sometimes you need dissenting voices to ground you and check your ego.
2. Influence
Coercing, forcing, and intimidating others is a sign of laziness. True progress in this world comes through influence.
Influence requires work, rituals, and skill. Stop begging people to buy your products; instead, influence them.
On day 4 of my 5-Day Sales Challenge, I’ll be sharing insights on the emotional triggers that drive people to buy. Want to attend? Click the link below to see if you qualify.
3. Unguarded Moments
A retired police officer in the USA, relieved to no longer carry his gun, left it at home. The very next day, while walking with his wife, he witnessed a man stabbing his girlfriend 20 times. He was powerless to intervene because he had left his gun behind.
This incident prompted him to start carrying his gun daily, even in retirement.
The lesson here is to never be unguarded in life and business. Always be prepared. Carry your POS machine to that event—you might make a sale. Keep your company proposal on hand—you might meet a client who needs it.
Unguarded moments can endanger not just you but your entire family.
King David was meant to be fighting but he came home and was looking at a naked woman taking her bath and that cost him the death of a lot of his men.
Don’t be unguarded.
4. Save Money
I interviewed Caroline Popoola, a woman who owns 14 schools in the UK. She has three children, aged 21, 18, and 14. From the age of 5, she has been saving money for them to buy their own houses. Her eldest daughter, now 21, is currently negotiating for her first home.
Her 17-year-old son, about to turn 18, has £18,000 saved—money that has been accumulating since he was five!!!
For starters open an account for you child now, and even if you’re not married prophetically open an account for your unborn child
Caroline will be a guest speaker at my 5-Day Sales Challenge. To connect with her and learn more, sign up for the class here. 5-DAY MAKE SALES CHALLENGE
5. Live Prepared
After the first day of the prayer retreat, I was driving my sons to the accommodation we had booked when I received a call.
A client wanted a sales coaching package I had prepared and saved in my business files. The next day, I pulled out my laptop in a coffee shop near my church, sent the proposal, and closed a £1,000 coaching session.
The lesson? If you live ready, you won’t have to get ready.
I hope you enjoyed this letter as much as I enjoyed writing it from the depths of my soul. Please reply and tell me your favorite lesson and why.
P.S. Forward this to a friend—it will take only 10 seconds, but it could change their life forever.
