I spoke at a small business trade show today in Grenich, London.
On the train, sitting by the aisle seat, I locked in and started working on my laptop. Last week, a company I am currently consulting for as their sales coach had two of their sales team members hit ₦90,000,000 in sales based on the structured weekly sessions I have with their team.
To be able to manage the team very well, I created an AI-powered sales tracking tool for them. It felt good. So now I know their lead source, conversion rate, deal worth, and deal status.

The power of asking
After my sales training yesterday, Saturday, 24 May 2024, I got to the train station only to realize that my train for my 3-hour journey home was cancelled!
The next train would be in two hours. However, there is another train company going to my location. The staff in the train station said I can’t get on the train. I told them, “Let me speak to the train conductor. I am very charming.” They laughed.
I met the lady, told her why I should be on the train. She said, “Normally we don’t do this, but for you, I will allow it.” Hallelujah—my charm worked!
I think my smile and the way I dressed arrested her. Hahaha
Lesson: Don’t accept the reality people try to impose on you. Stress test it by trying, asking, questioning and doing.
