I send emails, DMs, texts, or WhatsApp messages to people—pitching opportunities to do sales training for their company, interview them on my podcast, or simply add value to them.

To my surprise, some say YES, while many say NO.

But those few YES’s have given me a quality lifestyle and a growing business.

Being Shameless is a Superpower

The dynamic has changed. Some of the once unreachable people are now my clients and friends.

So, what’s the downside of sending that email, DM, text, or WhatsApp message?

At worst, it’s just a bruise to your pride and ego when they don’t respond. But don’t be bitter—it’s all a game.

A Single Message Led to Land

In 2021, I sent a cold DM to a real estate developer, pitching myself to MC a real estate event in Lagos.

At that conference, I met the CEO of Zylus.

Fast forward to 2023—he hired me to train his sales team for three months because they had an aggressive sales target to hit.

They hit their target.

I got paid my professional fee, earned a performance bonus, and was even gifted a plot of land.

All because of one cold DM.
