A few weeks ago I was curiously in the market for a new mic so that the output of my video and audio content will be great.

By just thinking about it I started seeing ads and content about mics. Funny how the mind works, we tend to attract what we predominantly think or contemplate about.

I saw two vendors that I really liked, sent both of them a DM on Instagram.

One of them responded to me immediately, with options, prices, and even sent me pictures via Whatsapp.

I went to their office in Surulere Lagos, to buy the mic (That’s the picture of this post. The mic is sitting pretty in my home office)

The second vendor responded to me 4 days later!!!!!

LEAD TO RESPOND TIME

To close more sales you must ensure that you shorten the time a customer makes an inquiry to buy from you and the time you respond, in sales parlance we call this

LEAD TO RESPONSE TIME

Research published at the Harvard Business Review suggests that if you respond within an hour of a text, email, DM, or Whatsapp of a potential client reaching out to you based on a marketing material you put out, you’re 7 times more likely to close that sale.

SET UP A RESPONSE SYSTEM

Hey, I get it sometimes you’re overwhelmed with calls and work, so here’s what I suggest

1. GET A TEAM: Get a V.A or virtual assistant that will answer your inquiries and only tell you the serious ones to follow up on

2. GET AN INTERN: Employ a young person to intern in your business and delegate all the follow-up of all inquiries to them.

A FINANCIAL SERVICE FIRM

In May of 2021, a company sent me a DM on Instagram to speak at their conference, I saw the DM and responded immediately and on June 23, 2021, I did the training successfully.

I understand the power of swift response, remember am not the only sales coach in town. Some coaches don’t respond immediately because they are big boys and girls!! Don’t be big in your own eyes oh, STAY HUNGRY, STAY READY
