MARKETING SECRETS OF PIGGYVEST, PAYSTACK AND BRIDGET
Happy new year. May 2022 bring you joy, plenty, and laughter. As we pull the curtain on 2021, I thought I should share with you some sales and marketing principles practiced by some of Africas leading organizations.
PIGGYVEST
Piggyvest is a Nigerian fintech (financial technology company) with over 3,000,000 users including me. I love the app because it helps me save and invest money.
Their number one growth and customer acquisition strategy is referral marketing. How it works is that, if you refer anyone to use the piggyvest app they’ll pay you N1,000. This process of incentivizing referral is what made them explode in growth.
According to the Wharton school of business 83% of customers are willing to refer you to their friends and family but only 29% of businesses ask for a referral. As you enter 2022, don’t just have a growth goal have a referral goal as well.
PAYSTACK
Paystack is a Nigerian payment company that STRIPE bought for $200,000,000
I love Paystack because they make payment easy.
If you open their website, you’ll see this
‘Trusted by: Bolt, MTN, BUA, Domino Pizza,”
They are using the principle of SOCIAL PROOF here, because if you had doubts before and you see that credible companies are using them you’ll be convinced to use them as well. To make clients trust you, tell them of other people that trust you.
