The DM that changed everything
In January 2025, I sent a cold DM to LemFi.
For context, LemFi is one of the biggest remittance companies serving Africans in the diaspora. Diaspora remittances to Nigeria hit a five-year high in 2025, reaching roughly $23 billion.
At the time, I simply reached out.
No warm introduction. No long relationship. Just a clear message and a willingness to ask.
Fast forward to March 20, 2026. I will be speaking at their conference.
That is the power of a simple cold message.
There is massive arbitrage in sending a thoughtful DM or email. Most people overthink it. Most people never press send.
But think about the math:
