Don’t just sit there picturing the mansion, the Bali vacation and the shiny SUV. Have you also pictured the hospital bed, the bounced‑cheque notice, the lonely pensioner flat?
Yes, you’ve got the house on your vision board. Great. But has that picture pushed you to pick up the phone and make one more sales call? Vision without motion is a day‑dream.
Negative pictures, on the other hand, light a fire. King Solomon nailed it: “A sensible person sees danger and takes cover” (Proverbs 27 : 12). It isn’t the promise of success that changes behaviour; it’s the sight of danger.
So do this: close your eyes and see yourself at 75—broke, sick and alone. Feel the sting. Now open your eyes and invest, exercise, call that old friend—stack the odds against that nightmare.
Fast‑forward again to your funeral at 90 (yes, attend it in your mind). What do you want your children and friends to say? Start earning that tribute today.
I’m not telling you to live in the valley of negativity. Drive through, grab the lesson, then get back on the highway. But take that trip often enough that your habits keep upgrading.
