How come nobody is talking about this?
Want new clients then: Attend events ( I got my first client in London in a physical event at O2 Arena), network like a pro ( I got some of my most profitable clients off the back of my network), and build those face-to-face connections. The offline world is still a goldmine waiting to be tapped. Schedule a paid and free physical events to attend in 2024. I am attending one on January 7 in London and I believe God to get a new client there. And please dress well and if the context feels right take a selfie with an influential person it increases your brand equity. Who you’re seen with have a way of influencing your buyers decision
HOW NIKE DID THIS
Nike shoe company was founded by Phil Knight in his book ‘SHOE DOG’ He talked about how they acquired their first set of customers it’s simple but it is not easy. Here’s what he said
“My sales strategy was simple and I thought rather brilliant. I drove all over the Pacific Northwest, to various track meets. Between races, I’d chat up the coaches, the runners, the fans and show them my wares. The response was always the same. I couldn’t write orders fast enough.”
STARLING BANK is the first fintech bank in the UK with 3 million active users and $3.15 Billion in market capitalization. So i just finished reading the 286 page biography of the bank’s founder Anne Boden and here’s what she said about acquiring customers offline
“After brainstorming it for a while, wondering how we could get complete strangers to try out an unfamiliar banking app, we decided good old-fashioned bribery would be key. Well, bribery might be exaggerating somewhat, since we went for the lowest common denominator when it comes to stirring up interest: free ice cream. Our strategy was to buy a job lot of ice creams and to give one away to anyone who agreed to download our app and give it a go”
That was how they got some of their first set of users.
