Business is war, here's how you WIN
In game theory and economics, a zero-sum game means that if one person wins, others lose. In business, this principle applies: if you win a contract, all others who bid on that job lose because business often operates as a zero-sum game.
The day you got the contract to cook for that event the other caterers bidding for the job lost.
Wealth, however, is a positive-sum game; having money doesn’t prevent others from having it.
Here are some war strategies to increase your odds in business:
“The military devices leading to victory must not be divulged beforehand.” — Sun Tzu
Keep secrets and stop talking loosely about your plans. Don’t share your strategies on social media—focus on doing the work instead.
“The general who loses a battle makes little preparation before the battle.”
Are you prepared for the market and upcoming opportunities? Do you role-play your sales meetings? Thorough preparation minimizes the chances of poor performance. Have you begun preparing for 2025? In my WhatsApp group, we do strategy sessions every Sunday—consider joining for a competitive edge.
Leverage Information Asymmetry
Knowing more about your market than your competition can be a game-changer. Business is about solving problems; the more you understand your market’s challenges, the better you’ll solve bigger problems for greater rewards.

“Now, in order to kill an enemy, your men must be roused to anger, so they’ll see the advantage in the fight.”
Your enemy is your client’s problem. Let the fact that your clients don’t have quality clothes or timely, nutritious food delivery motivate you.
My enemy is a lack of sales in businesses
