4 WAYS TO MAKE BETTER DECISIONS IN LIFE AND SALES
Where you are right now in your life, can be undoubtedly traced to the tiny, medium, and major decisions you made in the past. Now, whether you like where you are is not the subject of this email, the focus of this email is to ferociously point you to the principles, frameworks, and references that can help you make better and profitable decisions in the days that lay ahead of you. Let’s look into them
PARKINSONS LAW: This law states that “ Work will fill up the time allotted to for it” For example, if you allow yourself to make sales calls for 1 hour to 20 customers you’ll do it, but if you also allow yourself to make sales calls for 5 hours to 20 customers you’ll also do it. So, do your work within a self-allocated time, and any decision that won’t support that you’ll find it easier to make.
DECISION PARALYSIS: This law states that “ If you give people too many options, you may end up immobilizing them from making any decision” To help you or your customers make great decisions reduce the options you display before them. Notice how you sometimes struggle with what to wear because you have too many cool clothes. But Mark Zukerberg or Otedola don’t have that expensive problem. Otedola wears only white native. Instead of showing your clients 10 versions of your product, show them 3 it makes decision-making quick and easier.
SPOTLIGHT EFFECT: This states that “ People tend to overestimate how much people notice their appearance or looks” This is the reason why a lot of people don’t post images, videos, and progress about their business online because they think people are looking at their clothes or a lack of. People are focused on their lives, for the most part, they live in their own trance. Put your work out there.
PARETO PRINCIPLE: This states that “80% of your outcomes will come from 20% of your input” Put differently, 80% of your sales will come from 20% of your actions. There is an unequal relationship between your success and your effort.
In deciding what actions to take daily, ask yourself “What action will contribute to my revenue?” If gossiping, mindlessly scrolling social media, and doing other dumb stuff won’t bring you money please drop them like a bad habit.
